Finding a Gap in the Market
Some videos that have done secondary research on don't cover all aspects of what I as well as my focus group think is essential for a quality podcast/YouTube video. They either have a longer review video where they talk about the show in depth but it can get boring as they are by themselves and the video goes on for 15 minutes or they do a short video in more like a recommendation but then the viewer loses out on the proper review of the show. The only TV show reviews I can find weather they are longer or short have a single presenter which does have its benefits; for example the point the reviewer is trying to make can come across in a more concise way also the viewer can feel as though they have a better connection/understanding of the creator if there is only one.
Assessing Viability of New Media Products/Services
My idea will consist of me posting a short recommendation video lasting no more than five minuets and not exposing any of the key plot points but giving a score out of ten, possibly stating if certain episodes are slow or slightly boring near the start of the show. I will then release a second video which is around twelve minuets where another presenter who has seen the show and I review the series in more depth and explain endings or things that may be confusing to some viewers, talk about characters and what we think of the season as a whole. This combination will attract an audience that is already interested in review shows as well as those who are just starting out.
Finding a Gap in the Market
I see a gap in the TV show review market specifically Netflix original TV shows, because my idea will be different and more effective than others that I have seen on YouTube etc. As other review videos I have seen don't vary the number of presenters, the lengths of their videos or the content. They do a single video on the topic of a certain series before moving on, so I think that because I have varied mine this will appeal to a lot of people weather they watch both videos or just the one they think better suits them if for example they have already seen the show they don't need to watch the recommendation video but they may be drawn to the review.
